DIYers may be turned away, as many RV parks require RVs be manufactured by a member of the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA).”

Tiny houses on wheels are considered RVs with a 40′ length legal limit and are regulated by the CA DMV as a Home Made Specially Constructed or Kit Vehicle, according to Melissa Ross, Senior Planner of the Planning and Building Department for the County of San Mateo.
